About the lesson plan

Introduction

What does it mean to "catch a cold"? If we do catch it - how is it that we eventually get better? Some say that we have a tiny army inside our bodies that does a great job fighting against illnesses...

This lesson is about how our immune system works. Using the example of one of the most common illnesses - a cold - the lesson explains what causes illnesses and introduces students to the world of germs - such as bacteria and viruses. Students also find out about good health habits, like proper sneezing and washing hands.

The class activities are very diverse, and take into account also the need for movement activities. All printables and visual materials (films, pictures, etc.) necessary to give this lesson are included in the lesson plan.
